Elaine and Diane host periodic special events at Shelburne House throughout the year. The location for all events is the large, stately parlor with a gorgeous fireplace and plenty of seating. The dining room and smaller living room are also available for special events.

Shelburne House has hosted a wedding for 27 guests, and a large family gathering for descendents of the original builder of the house.

Recording artist Kate McDonnell has entertained guests with an evening of humor and song in the parlor.

In March 2004, Diane and Elaine hosted a day-long spin-in for western Massachusetts handspinners.

Local historian William Streeter has given a talk and slide show of his first-hand experiences with Jewish refugees in Cummington, MA and his extensive research on V-mail.

Future planned events include a neo-Victorian tea (planned for 2009) and a mechanical music concert (2009) from the Herman P. Ziegler collection of mechanical music devices.
